Talking Dog Studios is a completely digital audio post production facility, specializing in soundtracks for feature films, television series and commercials. Our main mix room is fully authorized by Dolby Laboratories for 5.1 theatrical mixing, and for many years was the only studio between Vancouver and Toronto with that accreditation. Talking Dog created the music and complete 5.1 audio for the Hollywood-released theatrical feature, Jennifer Lynch's "Surveillance", which was featured at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival where it received a standing ovation. We also created the sound and music for the feature film "Hungry Hills" which recently debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Talking Dog created the sound and music heard each week in the hugely successful CTV/WGN network series “Corner Gas”. The dry prairie humour of this Brent Butt comedy vehicle captured record-breaking viewing audiences from coast to coast. As dog fanatics, we're proud to be a part of this hit series placed in the mythical town of Dog River, Saskatchewan.

Here's a quick tour of our place: we have a Dolby 5.1/Dolby Surround sound mixing theatre with a ten foot wide projection screen, two other mix rooms set up for 5.1 pre-mixing, a fully-equipped Foley and ADR stage, eleven workstation suites, a spotting lounge/kitchen, and a spacious and sunny reception area. We have fourteen ProTools platforms, and a huge selection of effects and music libraries, including custom sound design created by our in-house engineering staff and original music by our talented team of composers. All of our computers are connected to 4000 gigabytes (4 terabytes) of fully indexed and instantly searchable hard drive storage for the ultimate in speed and flexibility. We also offer ISDN audio using the popular APT-X codec for ADR and long-distance mix sessions, plus DVD authoring to let producers audition their 5.1 mixes in the comfort of their own home theatres. We also do vinyl record restoration, including those vintage 78s that grandpa and grandma would probably love to be able to hear again.

As a further extension to our creative use of new technology, we are now also producing Augmented Reality projects, and have a small hi-def TV studio with green screen and teleprompter, suitable for a wide range of applications including live-to-the-net streaming and corporate video production.
